SȂNOR SZABÔ and KEVIN KASTNING – EPHEMERAL VI (2023)

Philip Jackson

You may well have heard of Hungarian Sânor Szabô if you are a student of guitar, and if you are intrigued by the prospect of hearing a 28-string double contraguitar, a 15-string and 12-string baritone guitar alongside an electric guitar, this blend of ancient and modern music will be of appeal. It is probably best taken in bite-sized chunks as there is a lot to take in, but it all sounds pretty wondrous to me. By the way Sânor is a prolific releaser of music, over 100 releases and there is plenty of music to choose from on BANDCAMP. This one is also released through GREYDISC contactable on greydisc@outlook.com.
