MAGIC PETRA & CHRISTIAN JÄGER – EILENSTEIN (Bandcamp)

This EP is a collaboration between Magic Petra and Space Debris drummer Christian Jäger. It consists of five tracks: it starts with the title track part 3, a drum heavy evocation with Petra creating some nice nostalgic moments on a Farfisa organ, the second part has a distinct feeling of a folkish nursery rhyme; ‘Harp Rag’ is just that: mouth harp to a shuffling drum beat; ‘Vocal Beats’ is a high octane creation concentrated on processed voice; two more brief parts of ‘Eisenstein’ feature the Farfisa again, making some impressionistic sounds; the final track ‘The Song’ has Petra on guitar joined by bass player Jürgen Frimmel and is the most melodic piece.
