The magazine starts as always with Thierry’s candid editorial on the state of music and the world. Reading through the magazine there is an extensive interview with Swiss prog group FLAME DREAM and one with GREGORY CURVEY of THE LUCK OF EDEN HALL and CUSTARD FLUX, discussing “The Luck of Eden Hall’s classic album “The Acceleration of Time”, venturing into the world of science and science fiction, the atomic bomb, the thoughts of Sri Ramakrishna and Curvey’s latest projects.
An Important interview for fans of SHYLOCK etcetera is one with FRÉDÉRIC L’ÉPEÉ which includes a personal perspective on his brilliant new record and “rallying call to turn away from darkness and find beauty and light.” Another is on LUNEAR, a European prog trio who cite influences ranging from Genesis, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Marillion and Yes to Radiohead, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Queen, Frank Zappa and Mike Oldfield. TONY KLINGER who has written a book “Who Knows: The Making of a Rock Movie” about THE WHO film “The Kids Are Alright” is also interviewed, and finally, a new band The Jacques Nazaire Trio who cite influences like JIMI HENDRIX, MILES DAVIS, STEVE HILLAGE, VIVALDI, VANGELIS and Impressionistic Art.
The REVIEWS SECTION includes CARMEN, EYES OF BLUES, BIG SLEEP, a book about KLAUS SCHULZE, JON ANDERSON’S latest project, the return of HAZE and RITUAL, JETHRO TULL and POOR GENETIC MATERIAL to name but a few. Not so many concert reviews this time, but two important ones: La Nuit du Prog in Lyon and Jethro Tull live in Glasgow.
